Coal Works (Performance)
Coal Works is an improvised piece exploring the possibilities of drawing and marking the space with our bodies. Using a big piece of paper as the performative space and charcoal to draw, not only the paper is imprinted but also our skins. Both our bodies and the space show the passing of time and become a graphic presentation of the aftermath of a dance.
This piece took place towards the end of an extensive exploration of performance and improvisation at the Old Central Saint Martins, led by Rocío and Thom, in collaboration with a large group of dance collaborators and friends.
Concept and Choreography: Rocío Chacón and Thomasin Gülgeç.
Performance: Yolette Yellow-Duke, Rocio Chacón, Thomasin Gülgeç, Alejandra Gissler
Music: Adam Brett
