Richard Alston Dance Company (Performance)
An exploration of the ways in which one deals with weight, resistance, and attachment, in search of a parallel sense of independence in a sentimental relationship. Through a constant revolving motion in the space, the dancers encounter and confront each other, while returning to their solitudes through gentleness and sharpness. This piece makes us wonder how our intentions and desires become distorted as they meet others', and how unnoticeably we might find ourselves in the tightest of love.
Choreography: Alejandra Gissler in collaboration with dancers.
Dancers: Annie Edwards, Anna Dunlop, Megan Cole, and Natália Beserra.
Composer: Sam Gooderham Musicians collaborators: Asia Paletskaya (piano), Robyn Bell (violin), Tom Mole (voice), Sam Gooderham (saxophone).
2018
Premiered at Robin Howard Theatre (London), LCDS Music Collaborations 2018.
